Home Description:

Completed in May 2021 this beautiful vacation home is located in the gated community of Kiwanda Shores.  The home features a reverse floor plan with all bedrooms on the first floor.  The master bedroom has direct access to the back deck and eight person hot tub.  The back deck is private, wind sheltered and abuts a deeded wetland, guaranteeing future privacy.  The master bath features a custom large format subway tile shower,  rift sawn oak vanity and quartz vanity top.  Two additional bedrooms feature queen over queen custom bunk beds built to handle adults as well as children.  Both additional bedrooms share a full bath with a one piece fiberglass tub perfect for soaking the sand out.  The large, open entryway has a custom built white oak bench and plenty of storage for coats & shoes.   Down the hall are the full sized washer and dryer and the communal access to the back deck and hot tub.  The single car garage is accessed through the entryway and is deep enough to accommodate a vehicle and beach toys as well having a storage loft.

The second floor is one large great room perfect for bringing the family together.  It features vaulted ceilings with spacious West and East facing windows framing both sunrises and sunsets.  The West facing windows offer peaks of the Pacific, Haystack rock and Cape Kiwanda.  The floors are wide plank white oak and the windows are accented in rift sawn white oak sills.  The kitchen cabinets are rift sawn white oak, built by a custom shop in Portland.  The countertops are 3cm quartz with an oversized island which houses the sink as well as offering seating for four.  The dinning space and table have seating for an additional six persons.  Also located on the second floor is a half bath which is tucked discretely over the garage and does not impinge on the open feeling of this great room.

Neighborhood Description:

Pacific City is a hidden gem on the Oregon Coast.  It is a two hour drive from Portland, International Airport.   Kiwanda Shores is a private, secluded gated community within Pacific City, located between Kiwanda Dr and the Pacific Ocean. The home is located  a half block from the community only beach access.  Unlike many other sections of the Oregon coast, the beach immediately in front of the community access is closed to motor vehicles.  The Pelican Brew Pub, Moment Surf Shop, and Cape Kiwanda  are a  five minute walk, either along the beach or through twisting paved paths sandwiched between  the dunes to the West and shore pines to the East.  Activities at Cape Kiwanda include: tide pools, sand boarding, paragliding, storm watching, dory fishing and surfing.  One mile south is the 480 acre Bob Straub State Park.

Owner’s Comments:

                I’m a builder from White Salmon, WA and this is my personal  coastal retreat which I both designed and built.  The location offers something for everyone in my family.  I walk to the surf break in the mornings, usually followed by a soak in the hot tub.  After breakfast, the whole family walks to the tide pools at Cape Kiwanda and if we are feeling energetic we climb to the top of the 250’ dune to take in the spectacular views.  Lunch follows at the beach front Pelican Pub where there are rotating locally brewed craft beers to sample.  Afternoons we spend either on the beach, or in inclement weather, all together in the large great room playing games, reading and relaxing.  Sunsets are incredible as the great room vault faces West, letting in all the colors of Pacific Ocean sunsets.  This is a truly remarkable location.
